optionalProduct details
These simple, sturdy, versatile trays come from the village of Garat Agueb in the Kasserine Region of Tunisia. Here, the women artisans of the H’ssir El Halfa collective weave the indigenous Halfa grass into beautiful products that embody Tunisia’s rich tradition of craftsmanship. These products bring much needed income and socio-economic development to the remote, rural region.
Halfa is a natural plant that grows with little water and allows a great diversity of plants and animals to live in its wake. Valuable for the ecological balance of the ecosystem and biodiversity, the grass varies in shades of pale yellow to light and deeper greens depending on when it was harvested.
Use the tray on a cocktail table or bedside table for holding simple objects like candles, matches, and a book. Crafted in small and large.
